Michaela Manning is an expert in equity structured finance, stock loan, equity repo, equity derivatives and international tax, with over 20 years of experience in investment banking and corporate tax.
Michaela spent six years in the corporate tax department of Deloitte Haskins & Sells, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant and became tax manager, responsible for a portfolio of multinational clients. She then spent three years as director in the tax department of Morgan Stanley, during which time she advised on the tax implications of a variety of trades, across both fixed income and equity. She was a member of the LIBA working party, liaising with the Inland Revenue on the implementation of the Manufactured Overseas Dividends legislation.
She moved onto the equity trading floor of Natwest Capital Markets, then Lehman Brothers, where she ran the equity structured products group. During 10 years at Lehman she ran both the delta 1 equity derivatives trading business, including swaps and contracts for differences (CFDs), and the equity finance trading desk, including stock loan and equity repo, after which she focused on the development of complex equity structured finance transactions.
Michaela holds an MA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.
